Short version: Use PixlBind for anything lawful. We provide the tools as-is, free of charge. You own your files. We own our code. Don't do anything illegal.
1. About PixlBind
PixlBind is a free, browser-based suite of file tools including an image compressor, PDF maker, PDF protector, and PDF merger. All tools operate entirely within your browser — no server processing, no accounts, no fees. These tools are provided as a free public service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using PixlBind tools, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our tools. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time — the "Last updated" date will reflect any changes.

- Commercial use — business documents, professional portfolios, client deliverables
You are solely responsible for the files you process using PixlBind. You represent that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any files you use.
4. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use PixlBind tools to:
- Process, create, or distribute illegal content
- Infringe on copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of others
- Create fraudulent documents or materials intended to deceive
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit the tool's source code maliciously
- Use automated bots or scripts to abuse the service
- Represent PixlBind tools as your own product without permission
5. Your Files & Ownership
You retain full ownership of all files you process using PixlBind. Because no data is ever transmitted to any server, we make no claim over your content whatsoever. We have no access to your files at any point during or after your use of the tools.
6. No Warranties
PixlBind tools are provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The tools will be available at all times without interruption

7. Limitation of Liability

- Loss of access to password-protected PDFs if passwords are forgotten
- Quality degradation of compressed images or PDFs
- Business losses or lost profits resulting from use or inability to use the tools
Always keep original copies of your files before processing them with any tool.
8. PDF Encryption Notice
The PDF Protector tool applies password protection using the pdf-lib library in your browser. While pdf-lib implements standard PDF encryption, browser-based encryption may not provide the same level of security as dedicated desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro or Ghostscript with hardware acceleration. For documents requiring the highest level of security, we recommend using professional desktop tools.
9. Intellectual Property
The PixlBind name, logo, design, and source code are the intellectual property of their respective creators. The fonts used (Syne, Space Mono) are licensed under the SIL Open Font License. Third-party libraries (pdf-lib, jsPDF) are used under their respective open-source licenses (MIT License).
You may not use the PixlBind name, logo, or branding to misrepresent the origin of any product or service.
10. Modifications & Discontinuation
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue PixlBind tools at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification or discontinuation of service.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. PixlBind makes no representation that the tools are appropriate or available for use in all jurisdictions.
